In recent days you may have heard that White House spokewoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders was ‘asked to leave’ a restaurant called The Red Hen located in rural Lexington, Va., because — well, because she works for President Donald Trump, and everyone knows he is a disgusting racist, bigot, homophobe lout.
But as it turns out, the story didn’t end there.
As reported by PJ Media, Sanders’ father, former Arkansas governor and Fox News host Mike Huckabee, said there was more to the disgustingly bad display of manners than just being kicked out.
Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left. Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so

In an interview with the network’s Laura Ingraham, Huckabee said the Red Hen co-owner, Stephanie Wilkinson, followed Sanders, her husband, and their party to another restaurant so she could continue to heckle them.
Like a stalker.
“The owner of the Red Hen —because nobody’s told this — then followed them across the street, called people and organized a protest, yelling and screaming at them from outside the restaurant and creating this scene,” Huckabee said.
It was so awful that a member of Sanders’ in-laws, a confessed liberal, was embarrassed.
“Look, I don’t like Trump, I’m not a supporter, I’m a far — considered liberal — but you guys are embarrassing me and you’re not helping the cause,” Huckabee said, paraphrasing the in-law.
PJ Media reported further:
Nevertheless, the mob yelled and screamed even though Sanders was no longer there because, apparently, having even a tangential relationship to the Trump administration means you’re not fit to be out and about in polite society and you’re no longer to be afforded public accommodations.
“This is what the left has been reduced to,” Huckabee lamented. “It really is tragic, and it is dangerous,” said Huckabee. (Related: NEW LOW: Democrats sink AGAIN on generic ballot heading into 2018 midterms.)
Initial reports claimed that Wilkinson was at home when Sanders’ party came in and was called by staffers who didn’t really want to serve her. Wilkinson said she ‘polled’ staff over whether they wanted Sanders to remain and the response was unanimous: No.
So she went to Sanders and asked her and her party to leave.
In an interview with The Washington Post following the incident, Wilkinson said, “I’m not a huge fan of confrontation. I have a business, and I want the business to thrive. This feels like the moment in our democracy when people have to make uncomfortable actions and decisions to uphold their morals.”
Because only Democratic administrations get to implement their policies when they win elections, not those mean, awful Republicans.
Barack Obama did more to dismantle our democracy than Donald Trump would ever do in four terms. But of course, you’ll never get his supporters to admit that.
And that’s okay. But what’s not okay is changing the rules of decorum and polite society because you think your cultural, social, and political points of view are the only ones worthy of defending and/or implementing.
Republicans and Democrats don’t have to agree on policy. They do have to agree that we can’t impose our points of view on each other, which is what the Left seeks to do with their childish antics and self-declared proclamations about Trump’s character and those who work for him.
Service to the president is also service to the country. By every measure, Sarah Sanders and Donald Trump — as well as the rest of his administration — are serving America. All of America, not just white, heterosexual, Christian Americans.
Not only are the Left’s proclamations about this president and his staff factually incorrect, they are being used as justification to be cruel, intolerant, insufferable, and to incite violence.
None of that is okay.
The Democratic Left is setting a horrible precedent here. If by some small miracle they manage to be in charge again someday, they’d better expect that their president and his or her staff are going to be treated similarly at some point.
